Expansion Ports come in sets of four in a "brick." Bricks can be stacked as needed for wiring convenience or placed remotely.
Gates and metering devices of many kinds are available; aftermarket suppliers and scripts make implementation a breeze.
Typically four connections are used for water in/out and two expansion/nutrient lines.
